2nd Annual CreArte Expo Latino Short Film Awards

​The second annual CreArte Expo Latino Short Film Awards took place in Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville, Texas. We want to encourage, support and honor emerging Latino Filmmakers and films that have Latino themes. We want to honor filmmakers whose work exemplifies originality, diversity and creativity.


We want to thank everyone that entered their film.  Over 1800 films were submitted to the CreArte Expo Latino Short Film Awards.  Many outstanding films were submitted.  The judges selected the following films.  They were honored and screened in Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville Texas.

In addition, the 1st Annual CreArte Life Achievement Filmmaker Awards will be presented at the ceremony.  The recipients of this year’s award are Joaquín Cosío and Renee Victor. 


One of Mexico’s greatest actors, Mr. Cosio has received 3 Arieles nominations in Mexico, performed in over 70 plays, 80 film, and television projects and is the author of 4 published books of poetry. 


Renée’s trademark versatility has placed her in a very special acting niche.  She is an acclaimed actor, singer, and dancer.  Her talent is only exceeded by her character and her “characters.”  She is a winner of the Winner BTVA Feature Film Voice Acting and BTVA People's Choice Voice Acting Award for her work in Coco.
